Lousy service, long wait for food, small portions

my wife and i come eat here about every other day tiffany gives us great service she is always smiling she is a top notch waitress !!!

Fantastic service! Food was a little bland for my taste but I like pretty spicy food.

The food is delicious, probably the second best behind Garcia's. The drinks are good as well. Some of the staff are a little weird, but not a big deal. I'd give it a shot if you enjoy a relaxed tex mex style restaurant.

Excellent food and wait staff, however I can't give it 5 stars due to the fact that there were not any options for vegans. We were with non-vegans and they loved their food, but we couldn't even eat the beans. Most mexican food restaurants offer black beans with no meat in them these days but that wasn't an option here. We live very close by, and there are quite a few vegans in our community, so I highly recommend that some options be added, as it would bring us in again and again!

As with almost all Mexican restaurants, we were served salsa and chips. The chips were above par and the salsa pleasing to this gringo tongue ( which means too bland for most Mexican food aficionados). The big thing we noticed was the amount of chips was perfect not the gargantuan bowl that the chains push on you. You know enough for 4 people but if 4 are at the table then there are at least 2 bowls of chips. I enjoyed the 2 tostadas although they were a little greasy but very authentic Tex-Mex. My dinner companion had the stacked enchiladas -layers of tortillas with meat, cheese and other stuff in between. She was only mildly impressed. Overall, this is a clean, friendly establishment with comfort food not gormay cuisine and fair price for good proportions.

I've been here twice !! First time walked out due to lack of service and second time actually got food. It was ok at best but sticking with my regular place !! Sorry

Don Melquias is very consistent with great food for a decent price and the service is usually good. I would recommend it for anyone who enjoys Mexican or Tex-Mex.

A good home town mexican restaurant. Food is good, service good, outdoor seating if you like. Why not!

This place was pretty good overall. The decor was a little cheesy, but the patio looked nice and the food was good. We took a party of 8, had one waitress and she was great. I had the beef nachos and they were on point. Lots of meat. The guac and sour cream sides were pretty small. Wifey had the stacked enchiladas but she didn't really care for them. The red sauce was blah. Everyone else liked their food and the service was definitely above average. Will return.

This place is absolutely nasty. Me & my aunt went a few months ago. We were served tortilla chips out of a bag - and we ordered an appetizer and it was basically cheese fries but the fries were freezer burnt, as we were eating - a waitress came up and tried to give me someone elses money back (not kidding), Just done with the horrible food and service.. I got up and paid & walked out.

Food was ok at best. Horrible service! The restaurant was so hot you could barely enjoy eating due to sweating!

Wow! Mom and Pop type of place. Clean. Pleasant young lady served me.Had a bit of very fresh quacamole with my fresh made chips and salsa I couldn't stop eating. Food was beautifully presented, fresh and tasty, and plenty of it!. Very reasonably priced. My new go to for really good Mexican food in Granbury.

The value is pretty good. I had two fajita meat filled enchiladas served with beans and rice. $7.00 so not bad and way better than Taco Casa!

We are regular diners at Don Melquias, it is definitely our favorite Mexican food restaurant in the area. Their food and service (shout out to Sylvia!) are exceptional. Their recipes are very authentic, and taste like someone's grandmother made them. They also have an outdoor dining area, which we enjoy.

It was good. Service was very good. Just a little bit on the greasy side. I had the tacos.

Had better luck at previous location. We went there a little late one night. No service at all and no one seemed to care. In fact service was so bad, the food didn’t even matter. There were several wait staff folks walking around and a few sitting at their own table wrapping knives /forks etc but no one even considered we were guests and needed service. Such a great location. They need new mgmt IMO. May give them one more chance.

Just had lunch there and the chicken enchiladas with salsa verdi was delicious. The service was good and fast. Will be going back soon. The employees were very friendly.

Great Margaritas and awsome Fajita

Large selection of items on menu. We had tuna tacos and stacked enchiladas. Both were real good. The enchiladas came with ranchera or green sauce, the green was QUITE spicy but good. Fresh tasting food and fun atmosphere.

Food is pretty good. The restaurant is an old house, so it is cozy and quaint. I will definitely eat here again, but that is mainly because I live nearby.
